A Tesco van driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash.

Cambridgeshire Police said a white Iveco Tesco van collided with a green Kawasaki bike on the A10 at Foxton, by the junction with Shepreth Road, at about 08:40 BST on Friday.

The biker, from Cambridge, was taken to the city's Addenbrooke's Hospital, where he died.

The van driver, a 52-year-old man from Royston, Hertfordshire, remains in police custody.

The force said the Tesco van was travelling northbound and the motorcycle was travelling in the opposite direction.

Det Sgt Craig Wheeler said: "I would like to hear from any witnesses or anyone with dashcam who hasn't already spoken with officers at the scene."

A Tesco spokesperson said: "We are deeply saddened by this tragic incident and our thoughts are with the friends and family of the deceased, and everyone affected.

"We are supporting the police with their investigation and would like to thank the emergency services for all their efforts."
